ONE-DAY PLAY is a fun, friendly, interactive event where teams create and perform original short plays for prizes (and an enthusiastic audience)! ABOUT: What: ONE-DAY PLAY When: June 23, 2018 Where: Studio G, 50 Shops at 5 Way, off Route 3 in Plymouth, MA ONE-DAY PLAY is a fun, friendly, interactive event where teams create and perform original short plays for prizes (in front of an enthusiastic live audience)! TO SEE THE SHOW: Buy tickets for the Opening (and Closing!) Night Performance ($20.00) at www.studiogplymouth.com/events TO PARTICIPATE: Sign up as a team or as an individual participant at: www.studiogplymouth.com/events REGISTRATION FEES: $20 per individual ON SATURDAY (1:00 PM): Participants gather at Studio G, where participants will be divided into teams (after warm-up improv and theater exercises with former Pinehills Players writer/director Andrew Osborne). Then each team will receive a random title and genre, after which they'll have four hours to create characters, dialogue, and rehearse a short original play! THEN, ON SATURDAY (8:00 PM): It's Opening Night, ready or not, as teams perform the plays and audiences vote on the winners! One-DAY PLAY: GENRES 1. Musical Comedy 2. Murder Mystery 3. Family Drama 4. Children's Theater 5. Experimental 6. Shakespearean Tragedy 7. Rock Opera 8. Mime/Kabuki/Ballet 9. Farce 10. Wild Card NOTE: Each One-Day Play must be performed in 10 minutes or less, including set-up. One second over 10 minutes and it's LIGHTS OUT for your team (meaning we'll literally turn off the lights on the performance, although the play will still be eligible for prizes if the judges liked what they saw)! ELIGIBILITY: Must be 18 years or older to participate.
